Innov-X Systems and HORIBA instruments have partnered to offer a high performance, field-rugged EDXRF (energy-dispersive x-ray fluorescence) analyzer for the analysis of critical elements in diesel, biodiesel and oxygenated fuels, in addition to other petrochemical fluids.

Current applications include:

ULSD: Analysis for ultra low sulfur in diesel for refined diesel fuel, bio-diesel and blends, and other oxygenated fuels.  The MESA 6000 uses patented EDXRF technology to automatically correct for oxygen content to deliver excellent sulfur analysis for the widest range of fuels.

Chlorine:  Low ppm analysis of chlorine in transformer, crude, hydraulic and lubricating oils and petrochemical fluids.  One of the advantages of EDXRF technology is the ability to simultaneously measure chlorine (Cl) and sulfur (S) in a given sample, including other elements magnesium (Mg), aluminum (Al), silicon (Si) and phosphorus (P) provided calibrations exist.
